· Double Records
Double or duplicate records is one of the other challenges that several companies face and leads to the creation of bad data. It is necessary to include a system that ensures that no duplicate data should enter during the process of integration. Searching for another option in this case becomes expensive and a challenge for the Salesforce.com Integration Partners that they would better avoid.
· Issue of Data Mapping
This is one of the commonest challenges faced during the integration of Salesforce and leads to mismatch of field types and data as the filed types tend to vary from one application to another. For instance, the address fields in the Salesforce may differ from the other applications making it difficult to write codes. Data mapping becomes a strenuous task due to Salesforce data integration.
· Creation of Auto ID
Salesforce generates its ID automatically for each entity that is imported or created into it. However, this generates a problems when the records that are imported from the outside applications have their ID’s already and are connected to the other records through those ID’s.
· Security Issues
For several companies, security is one of the key concerns and while integrating the CRM and the legacy system, you might find out that the API security does not comply with the privacy policies of the company. Customization of applications before integration becomes expensive once again, and force you to think of an alternative.
